The BTEC Certificate in Management is designed to provide a framework of education and training for those in management, or wish to enter management at middle management, supervisory of team leading level. It gives the knowledge, understanding and key skills necessary to provide effective leadership and supervision in those roles, as well as the opportunity to improve ones own performance, working with others and problem solving.

Course Format
Each unit identifies relevant aspects of the National Occupational Standards for management that are addressed by the outcome and content of the unit.The course is 100% continous assessment.

The course concentrates on the development of key skills. These are transferable skills, which play an essential role in developing personal effectiveness for adult working life. In the wider curriculum the course helps the learner to develop an understanding of the spiritual, moral, ethical, social and cultural issues and awareness of environmental issues, health and safety considerations, and European developments.

To achieve the whole qualification all four core units and two specialist units, form a choice of four, must be completed.

The Certificate in Management is at National Qualification Framework (NQF) Level 3. It offers an opportunity to achieve an internationally recognized vocationally specific qualification. It also offers the opportunity to progress to further qualifications e.g. BTEC Diploma in Management.

Those who have either completed, or are about to complete the Certificate in Management, can apply for fast track associate Membership of the Chartered Management Institute (A.C.M.I). Details of services and benefits of Membership can be found on www.managers.org.uk or www.edexcel.org.uk.
