The Department of Humanities and Social Sciences is Griffith College Limerick's newest department, having been established in September 2011 following the assimilation of HSI Limerick Business School. The courses offered by the Department cover a range of fields including Early Childhood Care, Humanities and Social Studies. All courses are FETAC accredited. Students may either study on a modular basis or study for a full FETAC certificate.

Those who wish are supported in continuing their studies either at Griffith College Limerick or in another third level institution. Previous students of this department have gone on to study for degrees at the University of Limerick, UCC and Limerick Institute of Technology.
